Joel Hervitz brings a varied business background, a love of real estate and a deep knowledge of appraisal regulations to his job as a commercial appraiser for RSR Appraisers & Analysts, where he has worked with clients for 15 years.
Joel specializes in commercial appraisals and works with many banks, assisting the in keeping track of the value of their holdings — a job that took on added importance following the Great Recession. Accurate appraisals have a bearing on much of the financial system and Joel understands the applicable regulations to ensure he is providing clients with the most accurate valuations possible.
A self-described “numbers guy,’’ Joel has extensive experience in real estate. In addition to his appraisal work, he has been involved in property management for more than 30 years.
Joel is a Pennsylvania certified general real estate appraiser and has taken courses at Widener School of Law and the Appraisal Institute. He has been called as an expert witness in hearings before the boards of assessment appeals in Dauphin, Cumberland and Adams counties.
Joel’s understanding of business results from a lifetime working in management and sales as well as an economic development supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Commerce, now the Department of Community and Economic Development.
A team player, Joel says he likes working for RSR Appraisers and Analysts because it is a family owned business where everyone helps each other to get the best results for their clients.
